The Muslim Association of New Zealand Incorporated (MANZ) is proud to be guided by our Shariah Board, a dedicated group of esteemed scholars and experts in Islamic jurisprudence. The Shariah Board plays a vital role in ensuring that our activities, services, and community initiatives align with the principles of Islamic law (Shariah), rooted in the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Our Mission

The MANZ Shariah Board is committed to providing authentic, reliable, and practical religious guidance to our community. Whether it’s issuing fatwas (religious rulings), overseeing halal certification processes, or advising on matters of worship, family, and ethics, our scholars work tirelessly to uphold the integrity of Islamic teachings while addressing the unique needs of Muslims living in New Zealand.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Fatwa Services: Offering informed rulings on contemporary issues faced by our community, from daily religious practices to complex personal and social matters.
  • Educational Oversight: Supporting the development of Islamic education programs to nurture a deeper understanding of faith and culture.
