The Muslim Association of New Zealand Incorporated (MANZ) is a steadfast voice for the Muslim community, advocating for justice, equity, and understanding in New Zealand. Rooted in the Islamic principle of standing for what is right—“You are the best nation produced for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong” (Qur’an 3:110)—MANZ works tirelessly to represent our members’ interests, promote their well-being, and foster a harmonious society for all.

Our Mission

MANZ Advocacy seeks to amplify the voices of New Zealand Muslims, addressing issues that impact our community while building bridges with wider society. We engage with government, local councils, and community partners to ensure that Muslim perspectives shape policies, protect rights, and enhance social cohesion in Aotearoa.

What We Do

Policy Engagement: We collaborate with lawmakers and officials to advocate for fair legislation, from hate speech protections to religious accommodations in workplaces and schools.
Community Representation: MANZ represents Muslim concerns on national and local stages, ensuring our diverse voices—spanning over 40 ethnicities—are heard and respected.
Social Justice: We champion initiatives to combat Islamophobia, discrimination, and inequality, drawing on Islamic values of compassion and justice.
Interfaith & Multicultural Ties: Partnering with faith groups and ethnic communities, we promote dialogue and mutual respect, strengthening New Zealand’s social fabric.
Support After Crises: In times of need, like post-Christchurch 2019, we coordinate with authorities to support affected families and advocate for lasting change.
